Remedial Massage Therapist

Jef gained his original Diploma in 1996. He has been in continuous full time practice since then. He was Massage Therapist for the Western Suburbs Magpies Rugby League team 1997-2000 and also has experience with many other sports.

He has participated in many post-graduate courses including;

  • Onsen Technique (with Rich Phaigh). Muscle energy technique.
  • Deep Muscle Therapy. Chris Lewin Seminars.
  • Several courses with James Walsh, an Australian massage therapist. Trigger points, core stability and myofascial work.
  • AOK Mediball Practitioner Level 1&2, which further helped my understanding of neuromuscular function and honed my movement and posture assessment skills. He spent 3 years conducting swiss ball core strength classes, and many more years utilising those skills in clinical sessions.

In 2006 Jef also began lecturing in the Diploma program at a massage college in Sydney.

Mika Watanabe - remedial massage therapist - head shot

Mika Watanabe

Remedial Massage Therapist

Mika completed her Diploma of Remedial Massage and studied Dry Needling in Sydney, but also studied Shiatsu and Japanese Kinesiology Technique in Japan.

She has qualifications in Remedial Massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Dry Needling, and is trained to do facial treatments.

Mika is trained to do Facial Dry Needling, which addresses the muscles of the face and can be helpful for treating headaches, migraines, stress, neck, eye and jaw tension and teeth clenching issues. It also can have positive benefits for wrinkles.

She combines all of her skills in a unique way to help clients get the best outcomes and she knows how to apply firm pressure when it is needed in her massage treatments.

Acupuncturist and Remedial Massage Therapist

Marina has been working as an Acupuncturist and Massage Therapist for over 18 years. Having completed an Acupuncture degree at University of Technology Sydney, and a Diploma of Remedial Massage at NSW School of Massage, she furthered her studies in China before returning to Australia to begin practicing. She has worked at a prominent International Massage School for 14 years as an Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist, Teacher of Massage and also as School Counsellor.

As a result of having much experience with both students and people from all other walks of life, Marina has gained a special interest in the emotional/psychological and spiritual influences affecting a person’s ill-health thereby taking a wholistic approach to treatment.

Kang Ja is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (qualified as an Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Myotherapist and a Qi Gong practitioner).

She offers her skill and expertise to all patients and is particularly interested in women’s health, focusing on complementary medicine for infertility, menstrual issues, menopause, and all other disorders related with female chronic disorders and pain management. More info here.

May is a certified Remedial Massage Therapist and an accredited Exercise Physiologist with ESSA.

She has a keen interest in maintaining quality of life through exercise, diet and self-care. Her belief is that everyone should be armed with knowledge on how exercise and bodywork can moderate and manage chronic pain, and consider movement as a natural, innate habit instead of a chore.

Her understanding of musculoskeletal conditions stemming from both mechanical and physiological causes, enables her to provide massage therapy that is evidence-based and client-focused.

May also works as a full-time Exercise Physiologist in a health assessment clinic and has been teaching hatha yoga since 2010.

Sonia is a former athlete turned personal trainer and remedial massage therapist. She has always been interested in body motion and anything that could restrict or compromise movement.

Her goal as a remedial massage therapist is to provide therapeutic massages, to promote relaxation, improve circulation, stress relief and muscle tension release to improve mobility. She specialises in musculoskeletal injuries and loves a challenge!

Her in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology and functional biomechanics has allowed her to work with multidisciplinary health professionals.

Sonia brings over 7 years experience in fitness rehab, nutrition along with her remedial massage therapy service.

Honey Quibulue - Remedial Massage & Myotherapy Therapist - head shot

Honey Quibulue

Remedial Massage Therapist

Honey has been a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist since 2018 and is currently extending her study and is doing a Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Myotherapy).

She has worked alongside physiotherapists and exercise physiologists and has a keen interest in treating athletes. Her focus is on evidence based treatments to reduce pain and discomfort whilst educating her clients on self care. She uses a wide variety of hands on techniques to help treat clients with musculoskeletal problems.

Honey is also mum herself who has a passion for treating clients during their pregnancy.

Paul Oak - Remedial Massage & Trigger Point Therapist - head shot

Paul’s therapeutic career started long before he gained his Australian Diploma in Remedial Massage through Evolve College in 2020. He studied five element acupuncture, massage, aromatherapy, and reflexology in the UK before moving to Australia in 2005.

To personalise the best treatment for you, his massages incorporate a variety of different techniques including soft tissue release, trigger point therapy, dry needling, acupressure, and meridian balancing.

Paul adds “I understand that discomfort manifests for many reasons. This discomfort may stem from physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual imbalances so it is important to identify and to treat the cause of the discomfort as well as relieve the immediate symptoms. I have a real desire to help you on your journey and love the relief and transformation you will get from treatments.

Qualifications: Dip RM (HLT52015) Australian Certificates in dry needling, and acupressure.
UK certificates in Five Element acupuncture, aromatherapy, reflexology, and reiki.
Member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).
