Kang Ja is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (qualified as an Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Myotherapist and a Qi Gong practitioner).
She completed her Acupuncture degree at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy at the Australian School of Remedial Therapies. She is also a member of Wushu Tai Chi and Qigong Australia and has been practising and teaching Qi Gong for over 15 years.
Kang Ja’s primary treatment modalities include Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Myotherapy, and Qi Gong exercises. Her approach is holistic, focusing on restoring balance in the body and supporting long-term health and wellbeing.
Kang Ja has a special interest in women’s health, with a focus on complementary medicine for infertility, menopause, PCOS, endocrine disorders, menstrual disorders, hormonal balance, and other female-related health concerns, including mental and emotional wellbeing.
In addition to supporting women’s general health, she has extensive experience assisting clients with fertility concerns and has supported many women on their fertility journeys, with many achieving successful pregnancies within three months of beginning treatment. Individual results may vary depending on each client’s health condition and circumstances.
Kang Ja also has a particular interest in supporting women during pregnancy, including helping to manage lower back pain from the third trimester. From 39 weeks of pregnancy, (Labour inducing acupuncture) she offers acupuncture to help prepare the body for labour and support women who are planning for a natural birth.
She is also experienced in supporting patients with long-term chronic conditions, including autoimmune disorders, pain management, stress, anxiety, depression, and sleep difficulties.
In addition to her Australian qualifications and clinical experience, Kang Ja has attended regular hospital programs at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea, further developing her knowledge and practical experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine and integrative care.
Her treatment philosophy is centred on client education, prevention, and addressing the root cause of illness, rather than only managing symptoms. Through personalised care, she aims to support each client’s overall wellbeing and help achieve long-lasting positive outcomes.
Kang Ja has also been teaching Qi Gong, an important component of Chinese Medicine, for over 15 years. She specialises in deep breathing exercises, including deep abdominal breathing, which may assist with stress management, anxiety, depression, pain relief, and improving general health.
